Mission
The mission of the Rhodes Institute™ is to educate the public about the Rhodes Scholarship and other prestigious graduate scholarships. It was founded around 10 years ago as Rhodes Scholars for Intellectual Diversity over concerns with left and far left leaning ideological bias. The Rhodes Institute is open to members and friends who have or have not ever held a scholarship. The Rhodes Alliance™ Inc., which runs the Rhodes Institute, is a 501c3 registered non-profit. We are grateful for donations. Every donor will receive a letter confirming the donation, which is tax deductible. The Rhodes Institute of the Rhodes Alliance Inc. is not affiliated with the Rhodes Trust or any Rhodes Scholar alumni or advocacy organizations.
You can donate online via the button below or by making out a check to “Rhodes Alliance Inc.” and sending it to Rhodes Alliance Inc. 539 W. Commerce St #788 Dallas TX 75208.
The Rhodes Institute™ is named after Cecil Rhodes, the British-South African businessman, statesman and philanthropist. In his will Rhodes stipulated the creation of the Rhodes Scholarship with the selection criteria of scholastic achievement, success in sports, moral character, and demonstrated leadership capabilities. Of particular note is the additional injunction that No student shall be qualified or disqualified for election to a Scholarship on account of his race or religious opinions. Forbidding discrimination, and affirmative action, is remarkable, given that this was written in 1902.
The Rhodes Scholarship has served as model for numerous other scholarships.
