Canadian Vice Premier and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland resigned from the Trudeau cabinet. Her letter states concerns over spending, however it is possible that Freeland could not stomach her boss visiting incoming President Donald Trump at his private residence in Florida. It may in part be a political move to distance herself from Trudeau, who will likely lose in the next election in 2025, and position herself for a run for Prime Minister on a further left platform in a future election.
